Colicchio, Esq., with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award. An accomplished listee, Mr. Colicchio celebrates many years’ experience in his professional network, and has been noted for achievements, leadership qualities, and the credentials and successes he has accrued in his field. As in all Marquis Who’s Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

As the sole practitioner at his firm, the Law Office of Neil N. Colicchio, in Worchester, Massachusetts, Mr. Colicchio has been recognized as a prominent criminal defense and trial attorney. Focusing his practice on providing unparalleled counsel to his clients, he also specializes in representing clients in personal injury cases and other legal matters.

Inspired by his father, who served as one of the original Voluntary Defenders and as a founding member of the Mass Defenders in Massachusetts, Mr. Colicchio began his career at the District Attorney’s Office, Committee for Public Counsel Services, public defender division, in 1985. He subsequently transitioned into private practice, garnering experience as a staff attorney at the Law Office of Joseph P. Marchese between 1987 and 1998. Shortly thereafter, Mr. Colicchio formed his practice, which he maintained until 2000. He then became a managing attorney for the Law Office of H. Drew Romanovitz from 2000 to 2001 before reestablishing himself as a solo practitioner.

Grateful for his success in law, Mr. Colicchio notes that he would never identify as a lawyer. Although it is a part of his existence, it does not define him. However, Mr. Colicchio remains proud of his ability to help clients recognize their mistakes and shortcomings and turn their lives around. Among his most notable cases, he represented a client facing 47 indictments in superior court and up to a 12-year prison sentence and negotiated it down to just two-and-a-half years.

During his career, Mr. Colicchio also had the opportunity to work behind the scenes with many political figures in Massachusetts. Looking to the future, he aspires to spend his free time expunging records and writing a book about his wife’s life. He is also considering running for public office and aims to become more involved in the nonprofit sector by establishing an organization that provides services to individuals with various mental health and drug addiction issues. Mr. Colicchio is presently active on the board of directors of the Cable Advisory Committee and Friends of the Seniors.

Graduating from Boston State College, Mr. Colicchio earned a Bachelor of Science in biology in 1981 with the assistance of an academic scholarship. Continuing his studies, he attended Suffolk University, earning a Doctor of Jurisprudence in 1985. Mr. Colicchio has been admitted to practice by the Massachusetts Bar Association and the U.S. District Court for the First Circuit of Massachusetts.

Affiliated with several professional organizations supporting his career, Mr. Colicchio is a member of the Massachusetts Bar Association, the Worcester County Bar Association, and the National Association for Public Defense.

In light of his accomplishments, Mr. Colicchio received the American Jurisprudence Award in Commercial Law in 1985. While in college, he also received the Mary E. Lynch Award and was a Speech Contest Winner in 1981. Mr. Colicchio attributes his success to the mentorship he received from several incredible criminal defense attorneys in Massachusetts who have guided and supervised his work, namely Lawrence McGuire, who was his very first supervisor, and James Krasnoo, who has been mentoring him ever since he passed the bar.
